Our Intent
The intent of sewer line cleaning is to remove foreign materials from the lines and restore the sewer to a minimum of 95% of the original carrying capacity: It is recognized that there are some conditions such as broken pipe and major blockages that prevent cleaning from being accomplished or where additional damage would result if cleaning were attempted or continued. Should such conditions be encountered, Clean Grounds Inc., will required and clean those, specific manhole sections.
Cleaning Equipment:
High-Velocity Jet Equipment will be used on major project. All high-velocity sewer cleaning equipment shall be constructed for ease and safety of operation. The equipment shall have a selection of two or more high-velocity nozzles. The nozzles shall be capable of producing a scouring action from 15 to 45 degrees in all size lines designated to be cleaned. The equipment shall carry its own water tank.
Cleaning:
The equipment shall be capable of removing dirt, grease, rocks, sand, and other materials and obstructions from the sewer lines and manholes. If cleaning of an entire section cannot be successfully performed from one manhole, the equipment shall be set up on the other manhole and cleaning again attempted.
Root Removal:
Roots shall be removed in the designated sections where root intrusion is a problem. Any work done to remove roots in a section shall be documented in the report. Documentation shall include the locations in the pipe segment where roots were removed and the procedure which was used.
Material Removal:
All sludge, dirt, sand, rock, grease, and other solid or semisolid material resulting from the cleaning operation shall be removed at the downstream manhole of the section being cleaned. Passing material from manhole section to manhole section, which could cause line stoppages, accumulations of sand in wet wells, or damage pumping equipment, shall not be permitted. A vacuum truck shall be used to remove heavy accumulations of material.
Disposal of Materials:
All solids or semi-solids resulting from the cleaning operations shall be removed from the site and disposed of at a site designated by law, to discharge hazard waste material. All materials shall be removed from the site no less often than at the end of each workday. Under No circumstances will Clean Grounds, Inc. be allowed to accumulate debris, etc., on the site of work beyond the stated time, except in totally enclosed containers and as approved by the Department Of Environmental Protection.
Water Use:
If Clean Grounds Inc. requires water for cleaning operations from hydrants, Clean Grounds, Inc. shall make arrangements with the local water utility and shall use only fire hydrants designated by the responsible water utility. The Owner will pay all costs associated with use of this water.
Final Acceptance:
Acceptance of sewer line cleaning shall be made upon the successful completion of the television inspection and shall be to the satisfaction of the Owner. If TV inspection shows the cleaning to be unsatisfactory, Clean Grounds, Inc. shall be required to re-clean and re-inspect the sewer line until the cleaning is shown to be satisfactory. |
